Therefore it is imperative that we add many more potential species of native origin for farming without further delay. To put it in simple terms, aquaculture sector currently in the 'conventional farming status', has to be lifted up to the advanced level of 'technology - driven - farming status'. By accomplishing these two major goals by adopting technically feasible aquaculture management practices, we can help place India on top of the list among the leading global fish producing countries.
